Delivery ceremony for 197 products in XCMG-Bolivia project

On the afternoon of September 24th, a delivery ceremony for 197 construction machinery products for the XCMG-Bolivia Project was held at the XCMG production base located in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. Construction machinery was spread out in a square formation, guests gathered and ribbons flew with a happy, festive atmosphere. The equipment included cranes trucks, road rollers, loaders, crawler cranes, concrete pump trucks, graders, excavators, loader digger, etc., with a project total of more than $20 million, another major breakthrough for XCMG in the South American market this year following the largest construction machinery order between XCMG and Venezuela.
Military adviser for the Bolivian Ministry of Defense, Outreach Director of the Ministry of Defense, chief of staff of Porto Corps of Engineers, engineering logistics Minister of Corps of Engineers, Bolivia's military attaché in China, Xu Yuping, China North Industrial Corporation President Adviser, Zeng Shigui, President of China North Vehicle Co., Ltd., Deputy General Manager Luo Dehu and the persons in charge of related departments of North Industrial Technology Co., Ltd., and leaders of XCMG and persons in charge of secondary companies attended the delivery ceremony.
During the ceremony, Yang Dongsheng, deputy president of XCMG, addressed the guests and Lu Chuan, deputy president of XCMG, handed over an equipment golden key to Mr. Jose, chief of staff of the Bolivia Porto Corps of Engineers. Liu Jiansen, assistant to the president of XCMG and general manager of the Import and Export Company, introduced the project situation and awarded a flag to XCMG service technicians. Sun Jianzhong, deputy president of XCMG, announced the beginning of delivery. In the roar of celebration firecrackers and warm applause, accessorized colorfully and arranged in a neat formation, the XCMG equipment slowly rolled out of the gate at XCMG and made their way to the port.
This is the first construction machinery project since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bolivia, and the first order in the history of XCMG exported to a country located on a plateau. Now production of the project equipment order has been fully completed, and passed third-party testing, all equipments will be delivered to the Bolivian military at the end of 2011.
Central and South America is a fast-growing emerging market for the construction machinery industry. Bolivia is an important country in South America, it is rich in natural resources, has quite a different topography, with an average altitude of over 3500 meters. Bolivia has great room for development in infrastructure construction and development of mineral resources. The complex construction environment puts high requirements on the performance and services of construction machinery equipment. In recent years, state leaders of China and Bolivia met on many occasions, and both expressed the will to carry out pragmatic cooperation in various fields and in-depth development of economic and trade relations.
As early as 2008, the Bolivian Corps of Engineers commander took a special trip to visit XCMG to investigate the crane, pump, excavator production lines as well as the spare parts center, and spoke highly of manufacturing process and level of XCMG products. The Bolivian military investigation markedthe beginning of the XCMG-Bolivia and the project was officially launched. This project was finally completed through hard negotiations lasting three years.
Wang Min, XCMG Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee, is very concerned about the XCMG-Bolivia project, and gave specific guidance and timeline requirements for the progress of the project several times. With great attention and promotion from the leadership of XCMG, efforts of the XCMG Import and Export Company, related departments such as production, technology and service specifically designed the products aimed at the special work environment and conditions in Bolivian, developed unique plateau-type products. XCMG service spare parts department helped Bolivia's military to establish a spare parts warehouse in the shortest period of time and set up service centers, guaranteeing the smooth operation of XCMG products in the plateau areas of Bolivia. In order to improve service of XCMG products in Bolivia, the group has specially set up a technical services team of more than ten people, and established a long-term maintenance and spare parts service center in Bolivia. This not only can lift the worries in the use of the XCMG products, but also makes the pace of internationalization for XCMG more robust.
Liu Jiansen, assistant to the president of XCMG and general manager of the Import and Export Company, said the XCMG-Bolivia project is a good cooperation between China and Bolivia in the trade and economic areas. By virtue of excellent product quality, predominant brand and perfect after-sales service and spare parts system, XCMG has become the only supplier of complete sets of construction machinery in China. He believes that the XCMG products exported to Bolivia this time will contribute to project construction in Bolivia by virtue of superior performance.
