Recently, the trunk pipeline of Nanchang - Shanghai branch of the 2nd West-East Gas Pipeline Project has been completed. The construction side introduced that with the crawler cranes, cranes and other equipments from XCMG this project had been conducted for 20 months and completed the East China energy channel with the total length of 815km, and it is expected that the gas transmission volume would reach 10 billion cubic meters / year after completion.
The West-East Gas Pipeline Project means transmitting the natural gas from China's western region to the eastern region, mainly refers to transmitting natural gas from Tarim Basin, Xinjiang to the Yangtze River Delta region. The pipeline begins from the Lunnan oil field in Tarim Basin, stretching eastwardly and finally arrives in Shanghai and extends to Hangzhou. With 11 provinces along the way, the total length of the line is 4,000 km. The designed annual gas transmission capacity is 12 billion cubic meters and the final gas transmission capacity will be 20 billion cubic meters. The entire project will greatly accelerate the economic development of Xinjiang region as well as central and western areas along the pipeline, accordingly, financial income and employment opportunities will increase with enormous economic and social benefits.
Under the high standards and strict requirements of this project, XCMG crawler cranes that specialized in pipe hoisting, equipment handling, hoisting of special steel plate for water network construction have guaranteed zero error, zero defect construction and effectively solved a variety of hoisting difficulties during construction with their high quality performance, safe and efficient work capacity, making a great contribution to China's gas pipeline construction.
