XCMG’s European Branches Partake in 2014 Marathon Relay in Dusseldorf, Germany

Recently, the Metro Cup Marathon kicked off in Dusseldorf, Germany, and 19 employees from XCMG Europe GmbH, XCMG European Research Center, and FT GmbH, partook in the team marathon relay event. That day, outdoor temperature was about 10 degrees centigrade, and it was raining. Since 8:00 a.m. (local time), traffic control was executed to main traffic tools and trunk roads in the downtown of Dusseldorf, and at 10:00 a.m. (local time), the Marathon Relay officially commenced. Organized in five teams, 19 employees from three Krefeld-based XCMG companies were dressed in XCMG uniforms, which fully conveyed XCMG’s European image in such a stylish event. In the end, the 19 employees successfully completed the Marathon Relay with the full distance of 42.2km. In this event that brings together more than 3,000 teams, two of XCMG teams respectively ranked the 37th place and the 81st place.
XCMG employees in Europe unanimously agreed that physical exercise beyond busy work hours is beneficial, and both Chinese and German employees at XCMG’s European branches always joined the long-distance race in their spare time, which not only helped them build up their bodies, but also reinforced the collaboration and trust between workmates and promote the harmony in the team.
As a grand once-a-year sports event in Dusseldorf and even in the entire Germany, this Marathon has been held for 11 years so far. This Marathon hosted nearly 14,000 participators, including those from Germany, and 30% foreign participators from 51 countries beyond Germany. Moreover, this grand event attracted about 25,0000 spectators to watch and cheer on site.
