Safety Operation: Preparatory Work for Hoisting Operation

1.Two preconditions for safety operation of this crane: well-run equipment and professionally trained operators.
2.Responsible person in charge of hoisting operation shall have full knowledge about the construction project, take into account every hazardous link at the construction site, put forward feasible preventive measures, and formulate exhaustive work safety plan. Points below shall be taken fully into account:
1)Structure of crew members and their tasks and responsibilities;
2)Work type and construction site (distance), crane trafficability, and road width;
3)How to transport the crane to the construction site;
4)Hoisted object’s weight, size, ascending & descending height, extent, boom length, angle of elevation, and crane’s hoisting performance;
5)Way of command used by the commander and the driver;
6)Auxiliary equipments and tools required for ensuring construction safety. Consider if the crane is the only optimal equipment in this task;
7)Restrictive factors in operation due to buildings around. Is it feasible to relocate or bypass those facilities influencing the construction safety, such as gas pipeline and HV power transmission line, etc.;
8)Inspect if the ground is even and firm, if the gradient meets requirements, and if the ground is able to support the crane’s weight and the hoisted object’s weight;
9)Hoisting plan;
10)Those special safety actions, operation specifications, and attentions that shall be observed in the event of driving with load and hosting of the same heavy object with at least two cranes;
11)Safety actions like windproof and antifreeze actions that shall be taken in the event of abnormal weather conditions like strong wind, ultra-low temperature, and rain and snow;
12)Take necessary actions to isolate the construction site, and prevent irrelevant personnel from entering the construction site.
