Vast Africa contains rich mineral resources and huge oil reserves. At a large oil refinery surrounded by scrubby tropical rainforest bushes in a West African country, tens of XCMG's large-tonnage Excavators were digging an oil channel about 20 meters wide. The refinery is located on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa. This area is torrid, dry, sandy and dusty. Aiming at the local climatic features, XCMG made adaptive technical improvements (such as crawler widening and desert filter installation) to these Excavators, to adjust them to the harsh conditions of high temperature, dustiness and sandiness. Over the nearly three months since their entry into the construction site, these Excavators have worked without failure for more than 600 hours.
